Collaboration with AAU on PhD project

01/10/2020

Kasper Leerskov, a PhD student in Biomedical Science and Engineering at the Department of Health Science and Technology at Aalborg University is working on his PhD in collaboration with Life Science Robotics. In collaboration with Associate Professors, Lotte N. S. Andreasen Struijk and Erika G. Spaich, Kasper is investigating if a patient can control ROBERT® by using electroencephalography (EEG), which monitors the electrical activity in the patient’s brain.

In his study, Kasper will quantify what effect training with the brain-controlled ROBERT® has on both the motor and sensory nervous system. A successful outcome of the study would be that the brain-controlled ROBERT® promotes neuroplasticity, which could lead to enhanced rehabilitation of stroke or spinal cord patients.

We are very positive about Kasper’s research and wish him all the best!
